Neestanan Presents: The Gravedigger
The Gravedigger is a one act, one person show. A man returns to his village after being away for decades. He has returned to fulfill a childhood promise he made to himself. A promise he made after hearing a story from his grandmother. His world is fraught with battles and hardships. He has many times been beaten to the ground, he is tired but not defeated. Hoping his return to his childhood village might provide him comfort and answers. The village he left is no longer recognizable and is but a memory. The people he knew are now lying in the graveyard he stands in. Upon his arrival he is given the position of gravedigger. A position recently vacated by the death of Samuel, the previous gravedigger. We join him as he talks with the spirits of the graveyard, made up of the audience, and with the spirits of his family and friends.
